Event summary

Staying innovative and creating new products as well as recognising new business opportunities is a necessity for companies. The often quoted example of Apple’s iTunes and iPod prove that companies can overcome challenges and even break into entirely new markets successfully – if innovation is fostered within a company and executed right.

Competition in all industries has increased. At the same time, saturated markets call for a constant flow of new products, services and ideas to tie consumers to a brand or certain product. Although innovation is closely linked to new product development it encompasses more than this department. In order to maximise innovation, there needs to be involvement of employees in all levels of the organisation. This is where the challenge begins. Innovation is not a defined entity or limited to a single group of people and is therefore hard to “control” and manage.

Over the past 8 years, we have developed this series from discussing different approaches and strategies towards a more open debate covering all aspects of innovation (strategy, new markets, open innovation concepts, risk management).
